Used to get that so often I made up an attachment for the foot pump so I could blow the pistons out and clean them.

As you probably already know (as I've mentioned it umpteen times) I drove round Europe last August in my 190, the MOT was due about a month before we went so I took advantage of being able to put it in for the test a month early (then I would have more time to sort out any problems found) as it was an advisory was the discs, the usual discs corroded, scored or rusted but not weakened one, it was mainly due to the lack of use, so off we went round Europe and after stopping for eats just before we left Switzerland I happened to look at the brakes and surprise, surprise after all those mountain passes, up and down and all the tunnels the generous braking needed turned my rusty discs in to what looked like a brand new set

My son who was driving at the time said 'what's that smell pops?' I just said don't worry it'll soon go, good job it had the bigger discs on the front!

Incidently, brakes still apparently fine but will make the recommended checks when it's warmer.

Give the wheel a good check over too. I've seen alloy wheels literally shatter after a binding brake has got that hot. I'd replace the caliper, discs, pads and fluid if it were mine.
