MY 1972 Cortina 2000GT had the parking light feature controlled by the indicator stalk.

Parking lights are still required if your car is parked on the ‘wrong’ side of the road.I.E. The front facing oncoming traffic. And yes Alan, believe it or not, I still have the old parking light that clips over the top of the window. Must be an antique now. .
