Default Remember Jawa CZ motorcycles??, I bought a new one :-)

Still made in the Czech republic, 350cc 2 stroke twin but now with oil pump, disk brake, electric & Kick start and electronic ignition, dead quirky but I think its great :-)
Here is how it sounds ringy dingy dingy :-)

I worked with an old guy who had one many years ago, he had never got around to passing his car test and used to ride it in all weathers. I remember it being rusty in many places but would always start.

Not sure how the finish will hold out as there is alot of chrome, but its such a practical bike with a fully enclosed chain (great idea) a nice upright riding position and reasonable performance, it also has a kick and electric start, I really like it, and it wasn't very expensive either

They have been making this engine since 1951, still sold to Eastern Europe, there is very little to go wrong, enclosed chain, no valves, no electronics apart from electronic ignition, now have a good front brake and the bearings are now decent quality, it has an oil pump so doesn't really smoke like an old 2 stroke, when ticking over it is running at 60:1, every nut and bolt are available swiftly from CZ, a complete carb brand new is £28.00!!!!, its plenty fast enough for me, and as you say, its different, it also has an electric start now along with a kicker too, I had one in 1981 and this is basically exactly the same bike with some important improvements :-)

I like these quirky East European bikes, here is my other vehicle, 1940s design but built to modern standards, the alternator is the same as a Toyota Hilux at 700W !!, oh and it has a reverse gear too :-)

Nice one

I remember having a CZ for a little while when I was 14yrs old and thrashing it through the massive woods we had near where I used to live.

All the upgrades you mentioned on the bike makes it sound appealing once again

How much are they these days? They were good machines but the Cossacks and Ural's were rubbish...
