Default E10 petrol

Just read an article in the gutter press that listed the mgf and mgtf as cars that could not be run on this new fuel. If that's true surely the 75 with the 1.8 'K' series engine should have been also in the list? I have an mgtf 2005 that I'm going to keep indefinitely, has anyone the lowdown on this issue.

I was just thinking of starting a debate about this too.
At the moment it looks like E10 petrol will be sold along side the current unleaded fuel which is 5% ethanol.
No doubt a price difference will soon be seen and not in favour of the old fuel.
I too have a TF so will be keen to see if it can use the new fuel.

Short answer: Humbug!
My 25 & my 75 are 100% fuelled with E85 since a year and some chaps since as long as 10 years without any problem!!!
Have a look on the other discussion linked above by @Teflon.

Now your talking sense. Oh, wait, they don’t want you to buy a diesel. Dirty filthy smelly things. Dangerous emissions. I was a lorry driver for over forty years, so must have had more than my fair share of diesel fumes, dangerous stuff. 79 years this December. Two Allotments, regularly walk the dog for an hour in Sutton park, along with everything else we do. Lots and lots of fake news about and people believe all of it all the time. My Father always said ‘ take a pinch of salt with what you read in the papers’. Today you need a bucket full of salt.

I've just got back from my European jolly in my 190 and filled up a couple of times with E10, as far as I could tell there was no difference with how the car ran, mind you it wasn't in the car for very long 😉

From what little I have read about it, they were worried about camshaft wear.
