Default using an endoscope to check slave

As far as I can tell, you cannot use a endoscope to check for a leak on the clutch slave of a diesel. No idea about petrol.

There are two holes under where the gearbox/bell housing and engine meet.
I had hoped to poke the endoscope up inside the holes and have a look around and look at the salve but... the clutch or DMF is in the way.

naught word naughty word naughty word.

Hi Ian.

I'm sure the two holes are created by a rubber grommet in a larger diameter hole in the bell housing. If you can find a way to hook the grommet out without damaging it, perhaps you could still use the endoscope?

You don’t need to look at the slave directly, just see if there is any signs of fluid working it’s way downwards.

I can get inside the holes, I don't have grommets. I just cant get past the clutch. I thought stupidly, the clutch was over a bit more and the holes were between clutch and slave

did not see anything but I can check again.
I have bled from master to joint and from the slave to the joint.
With the joint apart I could not press the clutch pedal down, so I don't think fluid is getting back past the plunger in the master cylinder.

I have managed to move the car and so for the moment the clutch is working but I'm not confident the issue was air in the system.
