I phoned the seller about 30 minutes after the ad went live, talking to the guy he said that they had replaced lots of parts to try to get it starting better. I think they buy and sell low milage 75s. I very nearly went to look at this as a replacement for my tourer that caught fire but a neighbour offered me his BMW 320 e90 SE at a price I could not refuse. What put me off going to look at this rover was the fact that he kept saying it would be sold as scrap only. I do miss the ROVER so will probably buy another as two of my kids want the BMW.

I'm going to go out on a whim and say it's an injector issue, since I had a sluggish start not so long back caused by said injector.

I did suggest it might be injector leak back but he said his mate did a leak back test and said it was okay. Probably fuel pressure issue as he said they changed the fuel filter head for another used one and it did improve the starting issue. If I had bought it I would have changed all the sensors on the engine and fuel system one by one as I bought the salvage back from the insurance company when mine caught fire, mine was running perfectly so I know all the parts are good. If the bodywork was as good as it looked in the photos and the BMW had not been offered I would have bought it as it's less than ninety miles from me.
