Good morning and thanks so much to everyone for your messages, which are a huge comfort to my mum and our family. Dad would love the fact that he is remembered, as he spent so much time on this great site.

'Heroes' by David Bowie will be one of the songs played at dad's funeral, not least because he was my hero, but also because he loved that song and, as a massive Bowie fan all my life, my dad bought me his albums along the way, so a nice connection. There will be colour and laughter I hope, as we remember dad and his love for cars and his Rover 75 form part of the Eulogy that I will be giving.

I am going to place a polished MG/ROVER lower front engine mount on dad's coffin during the moments of rememberence, something dad would love and in keeping with his and our family humour, so his beloved Rover 75 will be with him till the end. Both our Rover 75's (off the same production line just a few cars separated), will be polished and sparkling on the driveway as dad makes his final journey past the house in which he lived for the last fifty years.

Thanks so much again to all of you for helping make dad's life so enjoyable. Have a great weekend everyone.

Kind regards

Paul
