Thank you Jennifer, Jessica tells me she remembers Low and Bonners and how her parents bought tents from them for many years. She remembers where their shop was. That is quite a road trip Nairobi to Cape Town, what an experience and a memorable adventure. The guards on safari is something new only in the past 3 years. How things are changing.

We have booked to fly to the Cape on 16 September for Jessica’s school reunion and I have booked an AirBnb that week in Cape Town as I didn’t fancy driving back along the N2 at night to get back to the farm at night, you know how it is. We will be in the Cape for 2 months if you are around.

Hope you are feeling better.

Default Trip

Hi Phil, thanks for your reply. In cape Town they put the car and us on the old Union castle line, the Windsor Castle, back to uk, then after 3 months took the car, a Peugeot, back to Mombasa through the Suez; you could do things like that back then. As you say, how times have changed.
Have gas in eye so can't fly for 3 months. After that, will see.
Cheers to you both.

Jennifer

Hi all,

A lovely peaceful and calm end to the day onboard Lady Emma at the Marina.

Tomorrow isn't looking promising though so we probably won't be taking Lady Emma out for a run.

We count our blessings we are lucky to be here ….. 😀😀

Thanks for sharing the above pictures.

Derek was a true gent for sure.

I do wonder sometimes if in future such people will exist as those younger than me now get to retirement and beyond.

Morning all.

Did everyone enjoy their missing hour in bed ?

It's a bit cloudy at the marina this morning and the wind is starting to pick up.

We had a restful nights (if a little short) sleep though .

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter Sunday......Go easy on those Easter Eggs

Morning all.

In short....

Yes I'm missing the hour .

And yes, I too wonder if the likes of Derek and many, many others on this and similar forums shall still be around in future times. Which, IMHO, is very sad.

Anyway, for those that like photos see if you can find Quizzie on Trebor's photos from the Midlands Nano yesterday

https://www.midlandsnanomeets.co.uk/...hp?f=230&t=732

Take care.

Andy.

Morning all, The sun has got it's hat on hip hip hip hooray . There's actually some warmth to it for a nice change.

Great pics of the nano meet & Quizzie is such a sweetie.

Bootiful pics of the marina & Lady Emma Jeff

51st wedding anniversary today so I took a nice breakfast tray up to her with a anniversay card. That should get me some brownie points

Let us hope we are wrong and there still will be the likes of Derek who will carry the baton on to the next generations .

As for that missing hour.....I feel a mid afternoon siesta coming on

I'll be checking out the nano meet thread when I get home
