Help In Bournemouth needed please.
Is there anyone near Bournemouth that could recommend a garage or possably change my water pump and cambelt please?
I was looking at using Fernside Autos as they were a Landrover specialist just around the corner from me, but they seem to have disappeared. I have a coolant leak in that area I have not had a chance to look at it and I had to go to Portsmith on the weeked, after Southampton Monday, and the coolant did the same thing as Monday, a litre to fill up when I got there and nothing when I got back? So please could anyone help or have any recommendations? Regards |

Thanks for all the replys I have sent the car to Knights Autos they started it this morning and found that the water pump was leaking around the shaft as well as where it mates with the engine
They also noticed that the thermostat was leaking and advised to replace that as well, I said to do that too as well as replace the cambelt while they there. They still have the car and will do a finish off tomorrow but they said it was a good thing to change the cambelt as it was badly perished, this should in theory should have been okish as it has only done 45K miles but was six years old. Now I know there is some that will say the service intervals are 90K or 6 years which ever comes first, but in this case its 6 years and 2 months old, thats not great quality if you ask me? I have always said things happen for a reason, so I guess the leak was a way the car was trying to tell me there is something wrong and get it looked at. I will let you know how things are when I get the car back. |
