No I believe it is a hot hatch of sorts, I believe the GT4 Porsche do the same if one googles 'suspension tower failure'

I would guess a boy racer car with highly uprated springs putting all the pounding into the bodyshell, then SPEED BUMPS!

Yes. The force needed to compress the spring was greater than the force needed to snap the bodyshell.

Probably overstressed following uprating the suspension in the first place but could also be inappropriate steel spec.

Looks like aluminium to me and also has been drilled all round the failure line, which is probably why it failed.
