Default New grill badge how do you stop it fading

I have a new original 75 facelift grill badge to replace the old faded one and am looking for a way to stop this one going the same way. I have thought of trying to give it several coats of clear lacquer as used on the cars paint work any views/suggestions would be appreciated.

Yep, get some clear lacquer on it. I did this with some wing badges that I bought and it helped them last longer.

I used some clear vinyl, an offcut from a local sign company, which has worked too

Perhaps if that’s the case the subscription would go up to probably £25 it’s bad enough some folk don’t like paying the tenner as it is

I've got a new facelift vinyl adhesive badge and 3 of the V8 3-D type - I'm waiting for the better weather but as yet still not sure yet which version to use.
I reckon the reason we get 'fading' is that the later 'value engineered' badge designs only have a very thin clear facing that 'seals' the actual artwork aluminium underlay. The clear layer is also quite soft by comparison with the earlier acrylic 'blob'. It only takes a slight clout from all the road debris we encounter these days (just see what it does to your toughened glass windscreen) to breach the vinyl and viola, we have a tiny hole or crack through which moisture (the main culprit of corrosion) can ingress to do it's evil fading work.
2 or 3 extra layers of hard lacquer should help but IMHO what longevity you could gain is relatively little.

if you turn the badge around and put it on the inside of the grill it's amazing how much longer it stays shiny....
