Can see a blue and a black wire going down under the seat...wet down there...is that the area it'll be?
I'm gonna have to rip the interior out by looks of it! |

I think you'll find the sensor is mounted on the upturn part of the floorpan pressing, below/around the line of the 'B' pillar.

No need to remove everything, need to take the seat out and free/lift the edge of the carpet. You will probably find this "How To" useful.

Right just started...is this bit meant to be attached to the seat underside?
Sorry thought I could attach a photo...it's the black hoook with white plastic cover runs up the b pillar... Right...I've now got some photos of the green sensor...covered in white stuff, I presume calcified rain water....how do i attach photos? I guess more pressing is...how does so much water get into the driver floor? Bit further into this investigation...the passenger seat only moves a little forward and back,, not enough to gain access to the bolts ...is it goosed? The cable which runs up the "B" pillar is for the seatbelt height adjustment, when you move the seat this adjusts the belt to suit. Pull it & you'll see the belt move, should be fixed to the seat frame

Thanks bud...managed to get both seats out and white stuff over the green sensors so moisture getting in I guess.
Will order them. Found the water coming into the front is from a loose sunroof drain pipe...both sides wernt great but driver side definitely worse so I'll fix those. Good chance to clean it out I guess. |

**Update - all is fixed now!**
So I ordered some new crash sensors (old style green ones under front seats) and replaced with some I bought from a breaker and hey presto, airbag light gone out now! Think the cause was the sunroof drains did all four, rodding through refitting the rears and using a watertight connection up front. I've also used silicone sealant in the bottom corner of the rear most offside window as that was leaking as well as using some sealant under the washers holding the chrome strips on (long side strips). We've had rain and no extra water in boot, fronts got to dry out a bit but hey, up and running safely I measured continuity across the first two pins on the crash sensors (as you look at it with the mounting plate at the bottom) of circa 6.5Mohms, and a rising (to open circuit) reading on pins 2and 3 whereas on the old sensors they were open circuit. Happy bunny now. |
