I had a few of these , 820,825 ,827 mk1 and mk2 . They were wonderfull cars to be in they made you feel a cut above the rest . My favourite was a brg Mk2 fastback 820 si with the Honda engine which was a massive step up for me . My previous car was a Vauxhall Cavalier Sri Mk2 which only had 1 luxury and that was you were able to sit down

The 820 was powered by a Rover M series engine, and later the improved T series. I had one myself in radiant red.

The engine was so good that most people assumed it was from Honda!

Does the alloy 825 inlet manifold just bolt-on as a direct replacement for the R75 plastic job?

Correct the V6 24 valve 2.7 injection Honda was a superb engine, wonderfully reliable, smooth, and packed a real punch.

Not a bad looking motor. Just over 90k according to the MOT history.

Failed MOT on 5th June on:
Repair immediately (major defects):
Offside Side repeater not working (4.4.1 (a) (ii))
Offside Front Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (3.4 (b) (ii))
Battery insecure and likely to cause a short circuit (4.13 (a) (ii))
Offside Front Seat belt anchorage prescribed area strength or continuity significantly reduced door sill (7.1.1 (a) (i))
Nearside Rear Suspension component mounting prescribed area excessively corroded significantly reducing structural strength door sill (5.3.6 (a) (i))

Re-tested and past on 23rd, but with the following:
Repair as soon as possible (minor defects):
Nearside Side repeater insecure (4.4.1 (c) (i))
Offside Side repeater insecure (4.4.1 (c) (i))
Central Stop lamp(s) with a multiple light source up to 1/2 not functioning (4.3.1 (a) (i))
Nearside Outer Drive shaft joint constant velocity boot severely deteriorated (6.1.7 (g) (i))
Offside Outer Drive shaft joint constant velocity boot severely deteriorated (6.1.7 (g) (i))
Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Rear Registration plate deteriorated but not likely to be misread (0.1 (b))
Offside Rear Suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive door sill (5.3.6 (a) (i))
Nearside Rear Brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened (1.1.14 (a) (ii))
Offside Rear Brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened inner face (1.1.14 (a) (ii))
Nearside Front Tyre slightly damaged/valve stem damaged valve deteriorated (5.2.3 (d) (i))
Nearside Front Bumper mountings corroded but not likely to become detached (6.1.4 (a) (i))

Something for someone who wants a project I would have thought.

Must have missed it! Doubt there would be all that many still kicking around anyway.

The earlier 800’s could be an 825 or 827 Honda V6, the later 800 KV6 (also 825) was a completely different beast. A very quickly developed but not particularly good engine and not really related to the newer KV6 that was developed later and in less of a hurry for the 45’s ZS’s and 75 ZT’s
