Default Advice Please

Hello All

I have just had my aircon regassed so I am using it for the first time.
One thing I have noticed is when I switch it on the temperature will be set to 16 on both sides if I turn it down to LO it automatically reverts to econ.
Is this normal?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Tom.

I believe mine used to do the same thing in my last ZT. Not working at all in my current car so can't confirm...

Hmmm. That doesn't sound right to me. Just been out and checked mine and setting it to "Low" doesn't switch it to "Econ"

There is a built in diagnostic check you can run which may help. See here: https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...hlight=climate

You have SET it to LOW...Econ mode kicks in on LOW mode.

Mine does the same when switched to low, I’m sure they are all like that.

Mine doesn't . Just been out again to check again in case I'm going mad. Thinking about it, I can't see why it would. Surely "Low" mode should lower the cabin temperature the maximum amount. How could it do that if it switched to Econ mode where the aircon is effectively switched off?

I think that it depends on the outside temperature. The control unit monitors the outside temperature (no point pulling very hot air in to cool the interior).

You could be right Mike, but I don’t share your confidence in the logic of the ATC ECU. I’m sure you’ve noticed that when the car has been standing outside on a blisteringly hot day the interior is usually at a higher temperature than the ambient air. In these circumstances what does the control unit do? It selects ‘recirculating’ mode.

I’ve carried out a study of the ATC system in various conditions and I’m in no doubt that some degree of manual control is preferable most of the time.

When the Climate control is set to LO, it's on full cooling mode and no longer on AUTO function.

I will check my own car later on to confirm, but i'm pretty certain the AUTO button light goes out when set to LO.

You are not going mad.

When in Econ Mode the Aircon is NOT actually switched off...
