Bonnet warning light

After every time i open the bonnet the warning light comes on at about 60-70 suggesting it isn't closed. Normally a big lump of grease sorts the problem but not this time, any suggestion what to try after the grease?

Thanks, where is it located?
This morning the warning light was on constantly and triggered the internal lights in the car, after about 10miles it went out and went back to coming on at about 60. I assumed it might be moisture freezing it open.

On the slam panel towards the right side under a rubber cover.

Used to come on with the 260 when I was getting . . . . enthusiastic! Glued a small piece of rubber where the plunger on the bonnet switch makes contact with the bonnet, never happened since.

If you've checked that the switch is functioning correctly it could be that the bonnet latches are not fully across the bonnet pins. I'd try slackening the two latch mechanisms (from memory 2x 5mm hex. screws per latch on the slam panel) 1/2-1 full turn so the slider is really free, operate the bonnet latch a few times and spray the sliders with lithium grease. Double check both sliders are truly freed-off and re-tighten the latch screws to original positions.

Post 5 is the quickest and easier way.

It was wind flow over the bonnet at higher speeds that was lifting it up and away from the switch.---

Turn up the bonnet stays on the bonnet lid, it will bring it closer to the slam panel and the switch, but as above make sure the latches are free clean them with carb cleaner, once clean spray with silicone add no grease as this will only attract dirt to stick to it, over time can make them less likely to spring back and forth.
