Default bushes.. poly or rubber?

Ok so many things need to be done to my motor and just had a look around and although pre test didnt spot some issues i can see various degrees of wear on several bushes.

So far i need to change the upper, lower and i see also my OS rear suspension bush .

Ive seen the bushes for the lower in poly and now seen another for the rear suspension bush. What are the advantages over rubber. Am i right in presuming they last longer? how about the ride and vibrations.

I’ve recently had standard upper and lower rear suspension arms fitted.
However, on the front i’ve gone for Powerflex bushes on the lower rear suspension arms. The difference is noticeable as the car feels tighter and steers sharper. Just goes to show how bad the old ones were. I was not impressed with the availability of good original replacements as discussed on another thread recently. At £80 per pair they were expensive but will probably outlast the car. Annoyingly I missed the sale and could have bought them for £60!

Best money I have spent on mine, sharper steering and in my view better ride comfort.

Fitting polybushes to the front track control arms leads to premature wear in the central balljoint, as well as losing the compliance factor of the front suspension.

Not even if I were paid would I fit these, they've ruined the ride quality of any car I've ever driven with them fitted.
