A 1998 mini cooper sports pack. Bought new by my wife. Only 27000 miles on it. Became impractical when the kids came along and was put in the garage where it sat unused for several years. Sold in 2006 for £3500. Absolutely mint condition.

first car i had was 1963 mini cooper, wish i had that now, it would be worth some
money i would think, though its replacement was a bit of fun, a chrysler charger, an aussie version of a dodge challenger. It had so much power you had to keep a bag of cement in the boot to keep it on the road as it had a real light back end. |

Gold stars were rubbish back then and would be even worse on today's roads.
Why they are worth so much I will never know. A rocket gold star was miles better.

All of them. But three stand out.
My first car: Austin Cambridge A55 in 1959, 388 RMH. It was re-designated ‘Our first car’ when I first met Celia in 1960. Like you do. My Sunbeam Alpine Mk. 3 (last of the ‘fins’). APB611B. A basket case bought from a sailor in Union Street in Plymouth (like you do) in 1978. I and a friend in Saltash rebuilt it from scratch. Not a car. A Yamaha XS850. More fun than I can describe. Recaptured yoof. One 'event' wasn't fun. Taking four beginners on a training course through Plymouth, one in front and three behind, had to swerve to avoid a myopic pedestrian - leaned too far to avoid possible police involvement - and fell off. Three behind me didn't stop but carried on to the planned rest point two miles ahead. Blighters. Still, that's training.

That's a surprising easy question to answer even though I've had many cars.
1: Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 Veloce in bright red. 2: Porsche 928 S4 5 speed manual in Grand Prix White. 3: Volvo 850-R estate in dark green. Miss them all in different ways.
