I bought it in 2013 so it might/might not be original Bosal. It doesn't have the 4 'ribs' (visible on #10 in the diagram here) but it could still be a pre belly-up Bosal.

If it helps I bought a Klarius 705751311 back box in May 2015.
After 4 years it is still fine.
I got mine from ECP (same lot as carparts4less) for £47.99, so I think they are a bargain for what they are.

Any rust showing on it yet Bob?

I've just taken a couple of shots for you:

As you can see a bit of light surface rust, particularly in the weld area for the tail pipes.

I think it is not in too bad nick for the price and time it has been on.

Thanks for the pics Bob.

Is it worth slapping some high temp exhaust paint on it? Something like this perhaps - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Galvanising.../dp/B019WRX166 (no idea if it works!).

To be honest it looks worse in the pictures than in real life.
To get the paint on the top I would need to remove it and it will probably eventually rot from the inside out anyway.

At the price, I will leave it on until it needs replacement.
I am not expecting it to last 15 years like the original one did.

I wish you could still get those!

Was that for your KV6? If so were you reasonably happy with the noise levels inside and outside the car? Looks like what you got hold of in 2015 is still available at approx. +£8-10 more. I want a nice quite ride so if you can assure me that's what you get then I'll be going for a Klarius like your's

Hi John,
Yes it is on my KV6.
I actually had it fitted with the intention of it being a temporary measure, with a plan to get something decent. I could not see that it would be much cop for the price, but needed something quickly as the original one was blowing.

I am pleasantly surprised with it. To me, it doesn't seem to make much more noise than the original.
For the price I can't see how you can go far wrong.

Klarius backbox I had fitted to a tourer I used to own made a louder noise than the original and not just when accelerating, it was present when cruising. Also the backbox is slightly deeper in profile so is more visible when looking from the rear.

They are cheap to buy though.
