In both those cases you'll be surprised Mike. One winter, my air conditioning was running on 'Auto' when there was snow on the ground!

To take your first example, supposing it's 12 degrees C and raining when the dehumidifying effect of the air conditioning is required? It wouldn't be sensible for it to be inhibited.

Years ago I spent a lot of time recording various temperatures and consulting with club members but failed to identify under which circumstances the 'Auto' program does not enable the air conditioning to work.

Well you learn something every day.

I assumed the aircon would only fire up in cold conditions if you asked it to via the demist function.
