Never given any engines a flush. Took a few sump covers off and never seen anything but clean and shiny insides. Seen lorry engines that have done well over a million miles, and never seen anything inside any sumps. If they are given regular oil and filter changes with the latest synthetic oils, I don’t see the need for engine flushes. Could even be dangerous.

Never bothered with them, always seemed a waste of money to me. Never had any trouble just sticking to the manufacturer guidance.

Unless you have a serious contamination problem, I would avoid it.

The practice of engine flushing predates modern oil technology.

Things has moved on since the days of the "Model T"

Good man Robert! With your diesel, it can only do good. You'll be amazed at the filth that comes out.

I dont understand people that do it, waste of time and money.

Drain the oil for about 45mins on a hot engine, 99% of what you want out will be out.

With diesel engines it is usual for the engine oil to discolour.
In fact, it would be abnormal for it not to happen.

However, you have a petrol V6.
I do not experience the problems that you have with the oil becoming unclean between oil changes.

It is noted that you use Comma "Flush Out"
As a matter of interest, what engine oil do you use and is it changed, as per the maintenance schedule, of one year or 15,000 miles?
