My bike is not that modern. In fact it pre-dates Euro 1 that came out in June 1999.
Sadly, Triumph do not make sports bikes anymore and the Daytona is discontinued.
We can place the blame on European legislation for that!

The good news is that the modern bikes include a range of machines that goes back to the Triumph heritage.
This is the 2020 model Bonneville T120, where you can spot the similarity with that of the circa 1960 one above.

No problems with your knees kicking that 1200cc over, as it has electric start.
Get that wallet out, John!

Vincent......that brings back memories. I was on the back of my mates Triumph Thunderbird, going down the road that was always used as a racetrack back in the 50s, Stonebridge Straight, That is near the NEC . We were galloping along at over the ton, and a Vincent Black Shadow came past at around 120/125 mph. What a racket the two were kicking up. More chaps met their end along that road than anywhere else I can think of with all the trees along the side of the road, but what a great time we used to have .

Lovely Triumphs!
A couple of weeks ago on my drive in to work in the ZT I was passed by a cracking Bonnie.
At first I thought it was restored then saw that some of the brackets etc were plastic and realised it was a new one.
They certainly did a nice job commemorating the originals.

Default 50% pass rate on MOTs this week

Willy may have failed his MOT this week but glad to say my MGF passed.

A very pleasant morning yesterday at Triple S in Slough, there was a 1958 Morris Minor convertible and a 1982 BMW R100 getting MOTs as well so good chat with both owners. Although MOT exempt the Moggy was having an MOT cos DVLA want one as the owner is transferring a private plate on to it.

Best of all though was the F getting a new MOT, pretty pleased considering she's been in the garage for the past 3 years. She's been moved but only in and out of the garage, not on the road. Ran the usual checks, fluids all good, put the battery back in and she fired up first time, everything worked, even the tyre pressures were spot on. Then it was off we went for the MOT, roof down naturally. Bliss, pure bliss.

Nicely set up for the weekend...

Drove just under 700 miles yesterday, however I stopped off for breakfast with my eldest

I think Katie was impressed when I told her I used to live on Heather Park Drive when I worked in Perivale, and even more impressed that I dragged her from Kentish Town to have an "artisan" breakfast (read full English with builder's tea)

Didn't drive Copperleaf today as got the clicking no start flat battery. Battery not yet 18 months old but only driven 15 to 20 miles a week since June. Now on charge.

Yet again did not get to drive Copperleaf. Charged battery for 25 hours, went to car, yesterday I took the battery off, closed bonnet and locked the drivers door with the key. Today went to car with charged battery, tried to unlock drivers door with key and it would not open! Could not open the bonnet! Tried the boot and key opened it, got grandson into the boot, through the ski hatch dropped rear seat for me and opened the rear door then reached through and opened the drivers door. Why did the drivers door lock on the key when battery disconnected and yet not open on the same key?
Battery now connected, car opens and closes on the key and remote locking working. What went wrong? Any ideas? How would anyone deal with this situation with a Mk 2 Rover 75.

Looks like they're still making the Daytona and I think those and the adventure bikes are still assembled in the UK :¬)

I guess post-Brexit we'll be able to scrap the environmental regs - not that they apply to my old girl :¬)

You have to ‘sync’ the key to the car by pressing either button Four / five times. It should work then.

I didn't change the clutch on my ZT today.....But I did manage to book it in at a trusted local transmission shop to have it changed next Tuesday.
