I am frankly gobsmacked that a pair of low mileage vehicles that would have been kept garaged and cleaned on an almost daily basis could have such serious corrosion.

I guess it all boils down to how well the cut'n'shut conversion was done.

At that price a steal if you ask me.

If I didn't live down the worst maintained road in England I would have considered it!!

Default Limo anyone ?

This pair are originally from a Funeral Directors in Cornwall who sold up to the Dignity Group, they moved them to One of their FD in Yeovil . Our fleet in Bournemouth like this pair have suffered being near the sea but the fleet in Salisbury have no rust being well in land.

The MacNeillie versions of the 'standard' LWB cars are prone to corrosion at the join. Because it was a 'cut and shut' job, the question of rustproofing was not seriously considered, with the result that corrosion can be significant. The Rover Longbridge-built facelift limos are much better in that respect as they were properly rustproofed by the factory.
