2 nights ago, I watched “Sleepwalkers” a Stephen King horror.

A mother and son, both aliens with superpowers and the last of their kind, had to find a female Virgin in a small US town in order to survive. A Virgin had special qualities the mum alien needed. There was no sex, but the effects were gruesome. Ultimately a top cat with controlling abilities summoned up many cats to come to the rescue, saving the Virgin at the end of the film with cat supernatural powers.

The two films I'll always watch if they are on are "The Wicker Man" and "Get Carter", close third is "The Long Good Friday", excellent film but very rarely on.

Never seen the remake. I find many of them just don't come anywhere close to the original.
The day the earth stood still and flight of the phoenix to name just two, that (for me) don't have the chemistry of the originals. Then there are those that just manage to murder a film with a remake.
Watched the extended version of The Martian a couple of times now. I found it an enjoyable film

You should watch next is Blade Runner 2049. I was surprised it was pretty good. Plus according to James Camron the Blade Runner films are now part of the Alien franchise canon.

Although I always watch if on, I find The Wicker Man quite a disturbing film
The burning of the wicker man scenes were filmed at Burrowhead, about 3 miles away from me

Watched 'Jason Bourne' again last night........love the Bourne films

Must admit, as King fan ,I'd never heard of this one. Very interesting, seems to have been a little 'fun' project for King as a list of the minor cast roles reveals:
Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Tobe Hooper (director Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Poltergeist), Clive Barker (writer Hellraiser), Joe Dante (director Gremlins), John Landis (director) and King himself. Looks like King got a load of buddies together and said "Hey, let's do something really cool together". Some big, big names there, all doing little bit part roles

I think the most disturbing scene was when Christopher Lee appeared in a wig, make up and "Mary Quant" dress

Somebody mentioned Alien, the original was good, Alien 2 was even better, Alien 3 was labouring the point, Alien 4 . . . . why
