Here we go again, when are our leaders going to learn that meddling in other countries affairs and using bombs nearly always causes more problems that it solves.
Another cold war on its way

Cold Wars I can deal with - it’s hot ones I can really do without.

But the reality is Assad and Russia saw Obama say he would not tolerate the use of Chemical Weapons - and then he not only tolerated their use - he turned a blind eye to it.

Our own Parliament when Cameron was PM voted against intervention and Russia saw this and Obama’s inaction as a green light to get directly involved.

So the stakes are very much higher now due to inaction in the past.

Fair play to President Macron - he told Putin he would not tolerate the use of Chemical Weapons - and he hasn’t.

It's lunacy, don't they ever learn. Who takes the US to task for all the civilian collateral deaths due to drone strikes? Parliament is sovereign and should have debated and voted on it.

IMO It sends a clear signal to Moscow that the US, UK and France are not afraid to use muscle against a regime which has now killed 500,000 people and backed by Russia and Iran.

Russia has a terrible track record with Ukraine, Crimea, Georgia, the Malaysian airliner shot down etc. It wouldn't be too long before the red army is sweeping through Poland yet again.

As prr my post in another thread.

Its the ordinary men, women and children who will suffer whilst the perpetrators on both sides rub their hands.

So very sad

Yes indeed very sad, the innocent children blown to pieces, maimed and gassed.

Yes it is sad. But I don’t go with this idea that every military action must be debated. We all tried to debate this at the UN - but Russia (surprise surprise) vetoed the debate and investigation.

I expect our government to make difficult decisions on my behalf.

IMO - had Cameron not lost the vote and if Obama had not been such a wet-end I believe this latest appalling use of Chemical weapons against civilians would not have happened.

Sometimes when civilian men women and children are being gassed to death - debating the odds seems like the tactics of appeasement.

Im not going to get into a debate on this.

Innocent people on all sides wil be affected whilst the perpetrators on all sides rub their hands. Tragic.
