Smile No fan rotation - A.C.

How do I check the silver resistor, where can I find it's supply feed to check if it's powered?

In the control box Les, which involves removing the bumper.

If the 'demist test' results in no fan operation then you can be pretty sure that the resistor is open circuit.

Les, I don't think you have ever confirmed that you do or do not have functioning air conditioning cooling (actual cold air blowing inside the car) when the car is moving. Do you? If the fan is not working when DEMIST is selected AND you have no cold air blowing when driving the car, then you actually have two problems. Replacing the silver resister with a gold one will get the fan working again, but not the air conditioning.

Curious,
Glenn

Your resistor is definitely gone Les, I checked it on T4 when you came over for your key

As others have said it needs changing for the uprated gold type if you contact Jules on here he'll sell you a good quality one.

Fitting it on your car will require removal of the bumper as it's a facelift.
