Default Getting a V6 inlet manifold open

Hi guys, want to restore an old V6 inlet manifold because the arm that opens the valves is completely out of it's bushes so I want to open it and see if it's saveable or not, but the question is? After opening it, restoring it and putting it all together, what should be used to perfectly seal the cover that's screwed in and that seals the manifold upon installing it?

By the way, I was thinking about a pretty basic system of never having problems again with the arm inside the manifold falling out of it's bushes ever again, maybe if people are interested will also do it for others here too for just a small recompensation, anyways, the only thing I need to know is a proper sealant to seal the cover on the back of the manifold before screwing it back in. Thank you guys.

Have a search, probably in 'How to's' section. A member published a really comprehensive write-up about 3 years back involving ovens, sharp objects and a procedure for re-sealing after repair/refurbishment of the flap mechanism.

Unfortunately the manifold does not separate easily. The 'removable' section under the manifold is bonded to the upper section.

I used an electric die grinder with a 75mm cutting disc to cut a slot to get a wedge in then it was a matter of prying bit by bit and using a hacksaw blade to get it apart.
When I reassembled I used a high temp RTV sealant to seal it up and it worked well although I used too much. I had previously used the sealant to seal the headers on my TR7 and it lasted even in that extreme application.
