Default And he seemed to be using a sponge at one point........

Not what was recommended in the thread about R40's preparation for NEC on the .org site.

But the "two bucket" method was - the second bucket to wash out the lambswool mitt (which I've just bought) in, so you don't put dirt into the bucket you're taking the water from. Another BFBO - Blinding Flash of the Bloomin' Obvious - I know, but have you tried it? Did mine today, and was amazed at how dirty the water in the 2nd bucket was when I dumped it, and how clean the remains of the water in the first bucket was.

Er, I use 4.....

One for the coachwork suds
One for the mitt to rinse out
One for the wheels suds and three brushes
One for the leather

The leather one gets tipped out and refilled with clean water for the microfibre cloth to finish off

All warm - not hot -water

Me too, what a good idea Chris, I really need to see this happen to my car to be sure how to do it myself. I'm free next Sunday how about you?

What a pity I'm so far away.......

I've been reading up on the various liquids and potions being sold on a couple of the US sites and I must admit it's got me drooling a bit. Only trouble is I've already got three locker cases full of Autoglym , Xymol and Meguiars products - I think I need to use the lot up before any more stuff gets purchased!

Exactly my point you need more cars to use it up on.
I think we could even persuade Mike that his car needs a wash

We would definitely need more buckets for that ... I don't want any of his red stuff washing off onto my nice silver ...
