couple of preventative maintenance suggestions
Following work on my car and a thread from another member I make two preventative maintenance suggestions.
1 The rear anti roll bar bolts only have a 10mm head. These bolts seize solid and the heads are so small they can round off. Worth removing, greasing and putting back and perhaps as they are 7 or 8mm bolts using bolts with a bigger head. This is what I have done 2 Item 6 here https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID001554 these rust away and are NLA (no longer available, from Rimmers at least) I suggest removing, cleaning and protecting against rust. Could pick some up from the scrap yard/ I have painted mine and got 3 from a scarp yard At a guess item 8 https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID001553 these heads also rust and are NLA, worth protecting against rust macafee2 |

Great minds think alike - I wire brushed mine and coated them with chain wax, as well as copper greasing the bolts when I replaced the upper arm at the weekend.

This is the reply i got from a German Company specialising in MGR and JLR responded recently to a request for rear failsafe washers - That part is no longer from MG ROVER. Look for BMW 33312282251 yourself. Mit freundlichen Grüßen / yours faithfully Michael Hagedorn Allbrit Automotive Parts e.K. Ströherstrasse 12 D-29229 Celle www.Allbrit.de [email protected]
