It's obviously now impossible to make parts properly. The only solution is to make overpriced landfill, which costs many people several hours labour for the privilege of having fitted.

I'll bet Korean cars with a 7 year warranty don't go out with dry ball joints. But could it be the manufacturers of aftermarket parts know they will get quicker repeat sales, and garages will be happy enough to charge for ordering and fitting them? Call me cynical.

My Discovery 2 is still running perfectly at 214,000 miles on all it's original (greaseable ) propshaft uj's, having spent most of it's life towing cars up & down the country. I've greased them every 10k without fail and never dunked it in deep water, so reasonable proof that grease nipples are worthwhile
