Default When I were a lad

Helping a mate clear out his house pending a downsize and uncovered some old motorcycle magazines..
Here's a little taster from December 1954..
I'll take 4 Ariel square fours and 2 10 cwt vans please.

I used to work for a motorcycle shop in Ladbroke Grove in London, AJS, Matchless, Triumph and BSA spares was its speciality.

I'd make you an offer but sadly I've vowed not to buy from buying more until I've read all the ones I've got :¬)

But yep they make fascinating reading - can remember an opinion in one that rear suspension was waste of time because the roads were so good now (the late thirties) that it was an unnecessary expense / weight. Now everyone rides adventure bikes and drives 4x4s....

p.s. though if you have any with Ariel covers I might be persuaded

Very, very interesting to me as that year, 1954, was when I bought my first motorbike.
