You could scan the pics and play with the scans in something like Photoshop Elements. Should be able to make some improvement.

I've done this with old photos and slides. You only need a hint of the original colours to get good results.

on the pics, you can see where they have been in a frame, they were taken with 4mp camera you can see an element of how much they faded via the edges that were covered by the frame I lost some pics a few years back and these were a couple of the ones that were unrecoverable on the external hdd how ever you can make them better i would appreciate it |

Colour Adjustment - Example
Heres a couple of before and afters of me with my mother and sister from 50 years ago. It's easy to achieve with Photoshop. Cleaning up any creases, scratches and other marks is much more time consuming.

Whoaaah!!
You posted your pics while I was resizing my images to post, baconbuttyman. This could take some time! Would be easiest to start by cropping the pics to where the edges of the frame came, to try to get consistency when adjusting the colours.

Whats really hard is the border and the pigment hasnt faded evenly in the faded area. Some red has remained in the dark areas so when you correct red globally it becomes over bright.
Here is a VERY rough and dirty correction, so dont think this is the best that can be done!. Thankfully some detail recovery is possible.
