Im interested to see what others have to say on this. I will be doing a full suspension refurb on my ZT in the Autumn winter and I have not had much success with these in the past. My ZT ones seem solid so I might just give them a going over and new boots.
In the past I have used:- Europarts-carp and lasted 10 months Rimmers pattern- really carp and lasted 6 months Rimmers OE spec-better and lasted a couple of years Fleabay- dont get me started. Not sure why I bothered unless it was to do with keeping costs down when the family was young XPart OE - best ones by far but cant get them anymore. I might add this is on 4 different versions of the marque over a 15 year period If I do replace I will probably go to Matt as His parts seem trustworthy What succes have others had?

We've got a limited number of Longbridge factory stock drop links available - the parts fitted to the 75 and ZT in production.
They're unfortunately not cheap, as we had to go through a heck of a rigmarole to get hold of them - but they'll last the 100,000 miles or more the originals regularly do. Condition is good, however may have slight surface corrosion due to being stored since 2005. 4 year warranty with these - as they're the original, real deal and I know they'll last. Supplied in brown box packaging, as we bought these as full 75 / ZT front suspension assemblies that we have disassembled ourselves. https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/gen...rover-75-mg-zt

I sadly can't afford the originals at £75 with all the other stuff needed. I have saved the links to the eBay four year ones, though. Might be worth a punt!

Whatever make you purchase, well perhaps with the exception of those original factory ones, I would recommend that you unclip the boots and pack them with grease then refit the clip.
The ones I purchased from Rimmers a few years back had little or no lubricant at all so when they’re packed with grease you have at least got a chance of longer wear. |
