Don't let them do anything related to the head gaskets as there is a pretty reasonable chance they have survived and are fine. It is not a 1.8.

Good luck,
Glenn

Just fixed the loose fan on my car - nothing to do with it being loose on the shaft though, the front bearing on the motor had bought the farm.

Shame you have an MG and not a Rover front end, as you could have checked the play by whipping the grille off and getting your hand in there. If your bearings are shot then it would have saved the car being stuck in the garage all stripped out while they source a new fan.

Fan kicks in but the car is still starting to boil, haven’t a clue where to start now, oil is fine and no mixing of oil and water in expansion tank, not sure if it could have an airlock somewhere, don’t want to spend big money on it, considering selling the full car or breaking it now

What temperature is the fan starting? Check by running the trip screen diagnostics (see section 7): https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=55585

Did you replacethe pressure cap?

Why not try bleeding the cooling system to be sure? A Haynes manual doesn't cost much.

Done the onboard temperature test and the high speed fan kicks in at 106 degrees, left car stationary for 20 mins and it climbs to 115 degrees while stationary ? Turned car off and it took fans about five mins too bring it down to 101degrees before going off, didn’t move it and certain the car would boil if I did, any further ideas anyone please
