Actually Ive seen two different bolts fitted, which may explain the confusion...?

The Ribe bolts have a very definite square-ish look to the star pattern, and I swear they used a Torx Plus bolt too.

Ive definitely seen two different bolt patterns over the years though.

Suzi is correct with her bolt she pictured, that is a TorxPlus, and you can see the pattern on the bolt is somewhat rounded.

The Ribe bolts are almost "castellated" in there inner pattern. Sorry, poor description but all I can think of.

If your bolt looks "torxy", its a T50 Plus, if your bolt has square pattern, its a Ribe.

Funnily enough, both my Mk2's had T50 plus bolts, and my stepfathers Mk1 had very obviously Ribe bolts, if only I had taken some pics side by side!

This is a traditional Ribe:-

This is more like the TorxPlus I see mostly fitted to the cars:- (dont be confused by the RIBE marking, they make lots of different fasteners :p )

Bottom line is..... If your bolts are square, its RIBE, if they are not, its Torx+ as far as I am concerned. The bolt is so shallow, that if you are using standard torx, there is a high chance you will damage the bolt.

Hi Dawn, if you want to bring it down to Derby I've got a T50 bit you can use.

Had my seats out a couple of weeks ago.

Thank you Sprinter, I ordered one last night, though. Not to worry, with the way both my cars have leaked I will no doubt need it again!
