Default Bit size for seats

Hi everyone

Carpet fitting went well yesterday at the Nano and I also found that my airbag is the sensor. I borrowed Arctics torx bits but I don't have any big enough at home for the seat rails. Can anyone tell me the correct size to buy for when I change the sensor?

Thank you

Dawn

Geoff
is it a torx plus or just a plain torx? I use a T50 (Torx 50)

Right, the best bit for my car, is a Torx 50 plus, pictured on the right. From left to right, Torx 50, Ribe 8, Torx 50 plus

It's definitely not standard Torx. They have a different profile, even though it will usually work, but can damage the bolt. The Torx Plus profile is similar to the Ribe, which both fit the seat runner bolts well. The Ribe is squarer in the teeth, the T/Plus more curved like the bolt socket. So, my advice is to go for the Torx Plus.

Dawn, Arctic and Suzublu are two good people but I have just gone out to my car and torx 50 plus does not fit the bolts tht hold the runners to the chassis. Both my cars are Diesel facelifts on 06 and 56 plates. I don't know if year makes a difference and so it could be either torx 50 or torx 50 plus.

I now pray no one reads this and slaughters me

If I can find some immaculate leather seats for the Cowley car and if I can convince her indoors that they are better than fabric (she has a super sensitive rear end on cold mornings) I shall re-visit this thread!!!

As a dismantler I’ve removed more of these seats than I can remember, the tool you need is a Ribe 8 simples
