Default how quick can i tax my vehicle?

I have a vehicle that has no mot and no tax, it is currently sorned. Tomorrow I'm taking it for a pre booked mot
How soon after the mot can I tax it? ok I'm assuming it will pass but I'm confident it will.

The plan was not to then use it until Tuesday next week so I could tax at my leisure. I have left 2 venison steaks at work and so need to go and get them.

thanks

you should be able to tax it online the same day providing it's insured and the computer has updated.
However don't forget you lose if you tax it mid month .

Unless I am misunderstanding, it needs to be taxed before you can take it for a MOT? When you tax it online it is taxed from that point on, may not appear on some systems, just print the receipt.

You are misunderstanding. You need an MOT to get tax, but don't need tax to get a MOT.

Yes, you can drive an untaxed vehicle to get an MOT as long as it's booked in advance.

I taxed my replacement car on the 28th and had to pay the whole tax for that month, so, the guy that sold me the car lost a months tax as he could not claim part of a month back, and I paid a months tax even although I would have owned the car for three days in that same month. So, the government got two months tax for the same vehicle. That's the way it is and there is nowt that you can do about it apart, from driving for a few days without tax, doing that you take a chance of being stopped and getting a hefty fine
