No GPS signal MK4 upgrade
Hi all,
Our MG-Rover dealer replaced the faulty MK2 satnav computer for a MK4 type satnav computer today. Everything works fine, except for the fact that the computer says that it can't find any GPS satellites (service menu). The cursor moves on the map, but it says I am in Bukarest, which is 2250km from here.. Any ideas on what the problem might be? I thought that it might had somehting to do with the separate GPS receiver which is no longer necessary. I think the dealer just connected the MK2 cables to the MK4 computer without disconneting the separate GPS receiver, is this possible? How should one install the computer correctly?

Turned out that the garage forgot to bypass the GPS receiver, so I had to connect the GPS antenna derectly to the MK4 satnav computer and after that everything works great!

Yep that's the thing most people don't realise when going from a Mk2 to a Mk3 or 4. Sorry would have posted up earlier if I'd been free to get to the computer. Glad you sorted it though.
