Within same Models in UK different Fuse-boxes were fitted or Fuse designations.
Very hard to give concrete answers at times. I now know of at least 10 different fuse Layouts. |

The manual I checked was the PDF version from 1999.
There is a legend on the fusebox cover, but you need to be a contortionist with younger eyes then mine to read it. (A digital camera is handy in these situations - F12 says "AUX".) The Parking Aid shared it's fuse with other options - the sun-blind and accessory socket, plus, according to Haynes, rain sensor and interior mirror. It is possible to reach some of the wiring loom without removing the bumper. The colour coding is as follows: Brown wire common Black wire common NS Outer Red NS Inner Yellow OS Inner Green OS Outer Blue The other wires all have battery-level voltage with respect to Brown. If you reach inside the bumper, the wiring will pull forward. You should at least be able to reach the connector. Bumper removal involves undoing of pairs of screws under rear wheel arches and inside tailgate hatch - these are awkward to locate when re-fitting. The 2 underbody plastic scrivets and 5 hatch screws on top are a bit easier.

Same problem with my 05 Diesel 75.
Select Reverse and a continuous tone until gear shift returned to Neutral. After the car has run for a while it works fine, it also seems to be better in the wet, loose wire/connector methinks. Another job for a dry day/weekend Andrew

A common problem with these is a dodgy connector to the main wiring harness. So dodgy in fact MG Rover issued a technical bulletin about it.
I will see if I can dig it out. |

I'm back.
It is Tech Tip TT0104 but I can not attach files. Unless a mod would like to upgrade my status so I can, I will have to find another way to do it. I will think about it.... |

Technical Tip
The following should be used as an aid or suggestion to resolve the described condition. In most instances this suggestion may eventually be replaced by a formal Technical Bulletin. Please do not file this document after use since in the majority of instances the information provided will have a limited life and may be updated daily. Your feedback concerning the effectiveness of this information would be helpful. No: Date: Section: TT0104 Issue 1 02.03.2004 ELECTRICAL Model / Derivative: Rover 75 (including Tourer) MG ZT (including MG ZT-T) Title / Symptoms: PARKING AID INOPERATIVE / INTERMITTENT OPERATION Cause: Poor electrical connection at Park Distance Control PDC sensors. Suggested solution: 1. Referring to workshop manual repair number 76.22.44, partially remove rear bumper to enable the PDC multiplug to be disconnected. 2. Disconnect and re-connect the multiplug (arrowed in illustrations) several times ensuring that the latching device is securely engaged. 3. Refit the bumper and confirm that sensors are now operating correctly. Last edited by Simon; 29th August 2008 at 18:27.. |

All fixed. It was a broken yellow wire into the multi plug. Not obvious until I touched it and it fell apart.
Excellent guidance on here and I didn't need to touch the bumper. Thanks, Tom
