air con fuse 9
can anybody tell me if the underbonnet fuse f9 controlls anything else other than the ac compressor clutch. I had a new compressor fitted a month ago and now the air con does not work because fuse f9 is constantly blowing as soon as the ac is called. does anybody have any circuit drawings?

Under bonnet Fuse 9 (10 amps) protects the aircon system only.

If there is a leak anywhere in the System and levels drop below a certain point,
I'm sure the Fuse blows at or before that point if A/C is operated. May be Installation fault rather than faulty Component? Also check pipes for rubbing, easily wears a hole in Air Con system pipes. |

I had my aircon recharged at kwik fit. They attach two pipes to this machine which empties, pressure checks, and refils. Might be worth have them do it to test for leaks...
Not sure what the opinion of them on the site is but my a/c has been great since and they took the temperature and it got to 4.8 and was still dropping but I said that was fine. |

It is a single wire that feeds the aircon pump. if this is disconnected just by the pump (not east to get to) then you will know if it is the wire or the pump it's self.
Simply disconnect and fit new fuse, if it still blows it will be and earth fault on the wire, if not it will probably be the pump As far as I know lack pressure in the air con, it simply will not run, not cause the fuse to blow, mine was discharged when purchased but I have never changed the fuse.
