Sorry to read this Christopher, sounds like you have been lucky if you can call it that! I hope you and your dog make a full recovery. And thanks for providing the platform for us to love and care for these fine cars.
Which includes sorting the server out. Merry Christmas and a happy New year to you and your family. |

Hello Christopher,
What a terrifying experience - and a huge relief to hear that you and Rey are both safe - and able, I hope to spend a happy Christmas with your family. ... I would like to echo your words by adding my warm thanks to you and all your team for all the help and pleasure I derive from membership of this excellent Club . Merry Christmas and Happy New Year you all, Nicholas/Zircon |

From your OP it is obvious that adjusting your speed to the prevailing conditions mitigated what could so easily have been a very different outcome. If only everyone did! Best wishes returned.

A happy Christmas to you and the family Christopher. I am glad you and Rey pulled through the accident. Good news the car afforded you protection, even though you ended up sore and battered. Do get yourself checked out at the hospital if you develop any new symptoms or get headaches which do not go away.
In the meantime do have a peaceful Christmas. Look after yourself. |

Dear all
Thanks for your kind words. We are fine and I have had time to assess R70 ... I managed to obtain an entire passenger door in silver from a breaker and fitted it today, so now at least the inside is not open to the elements, and I can see left and my mirror! Sadly the dent in the roof and the A-pillar are quite severe - I can get my fingers in the gap between the door frame and each with the door closed - thankfully the rubber seal seems to be keeping the moisture out but I cant drive the car around like this forever. I will drive R70 and keep my eyes open, for a ZT this time I think, and when the right car turns up I will retire R70 on the lawn and take all the nice bits off her I have just spent almost £600 on her for a new, clutch and flywheel and other bits, Springs before that and HGF before that ... oh well Have a great Christmas everyone and take care out there Best

This is the first opportunity I have had to respond to the post. I am glad that you are both OK which is the most important thing, cars can be replaced or repaired. Best wishes for Xmas and the new year.

Sounds awful, glad you are OK though. Cars if needed can be replaced, people can't.
Hope you and yours have a good Christmas |

hi chris.
first and most important, at least you and your furry companion are safe and sound. i am very sorry about r70, i know how you must be feeling because delia my old girl was eventually written off as cat c, {for a few days i did'nt know whether she would be fully written off as cat b} i managed thankfully to get her back on the road. from the sounds of the damage its not sounding very good for r70 though, keep us posted if "hopefully" things change, fingers crossed. finally may everyone enjoy a peaceful and fruitful christmas and new year, all the best everybody, pete. |
