Can anyone recommend a 75 garage?
Hi folks.
Pleased as punch I have a late Mk1 75 Connie SE Tourer with the diesel engine (the 135BHP). Had it a couple of months. It seems a good'un. Bodywork is superb. First seems to need a lot of revs to avoid stalling but it might be me getting used to different torque. The previous owner looked after it himself mainly and had anything done as it came up. I have all the records. I've had some fantastic integrated Kenwood/In Phase ICE-NAV installed including full s/wheel controls (by Car Audio Centre Tooting which I can recommend to members). New tyres on the back as they were a bit worn. What a ride! As good as a Jag S3 I had a few years back. Shame it's usually to see Leyton Orient play away. Want to stay pleased as punch No problems so far but in six weeks we are going on the usual half-term driving trip to Lower Saxony for a bit of walking and stocking up with German lemonade made from malted barley and hops. . Beforehand I'd like it checked over, serviced (including anything he/she feels is due), the aircon fixed (I think it's more than a re-charge), and the engine diagnostics run (ideally I'd like an upgrade in BHP but only something sensible). Help I asked before if anyone had the answer to a few smallish things and had some spot-on advice. CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND AN AUTO-ENGINEER/GARAGE? In or near NE London would be great; but greater is the need for someone/somewhere club members use regularly and I don't mind staying over if need be. I don't want to waste money but nor am I looking to cut any corners, if that makes sense. Any responses welcome. Cheers. |

Last summer I took the bull by its horns and decided to drive up to North Wales from North London. Jules sorted out my outstanding A/C problem once and for all Air con repairs is one of the specialist skills Jules offers. Whilst he is not local, he gave me peace of mind and a job well done. Stick with the forum gurus. They know our cars inside out and they won't rip you off. All the best |

Air conditioning
Hello Lloyd,
Click4 is a self-employed automotive air conditioning practitioner. He's based in Essex but travels. He hasn't been on the forum for a while but should respond to an e-mail. But before you go any further with the air con., press the windscreen demist button then walk to the front of the car and check that the electric radiator fan is running. Simon

Yeah I will be careful. Lates600 near Rugby looks good and gets good reviews. Including aircon.

Hi,
If you are willing to travel to get things put right 'by the book', I visited Terry at TS Autos in Stourbridge last summer to solve a tricky airbag system issue issue, change the automatic gearbox fluid plus fit new thermostat and service. As Terry actually built the last of our cars, he really knows his stuff - he is most friendly guy and has reasonable charges too . Highly recommended. All the best, Nicholas/Zircon |
