Default Lost front indicator spring thingy - doh!

Hi all,

A simple little job for a summer evening I thought - to change the off-side front indicator bulb on my beloved Cowley-built 75. I followed the handbook suggested use of a flat-bladed screwdriver to ease the lens out - when a 'ping' sounded as it came away without the curly spring/clip that clips it firmly in place (the one towards the middle of the car). A quick look into the depth of the bumper assembly revealed no sign of the missing object .

Well at least I replaced the bulb OK which extinguished the helpful/maddening dash warning light. I have managed a bodged repair with double-sided tape and blu-tac which I hope will keep the lens from falling out for a while.

I am sure the 'right' thing to do now would be to take the front end off and find the little blighter that has caused such aggro - but I know my limitations of skill and patience.

Just in case anyone has a spare clip lurking in a box that they could part with, that would be a huge help .... otherwise I suppose I will have to buy a complete replacement indicator lens ... when I only need the clip.

The moral of the story may be - best not to use a screwdriver to remove the lens

All the best,

Nicholas/Zircon
