Newbie, both to the Rover marque and the 75!
I'd always liked the look of the 75, indeed I even had a neighbour who had a new one for a year, but I didn't pass too many remarks, now 16yrs later I've taken the plunge!
Hadn't been looking too hard when a 2006, CDTI popped up in Lisburn, owned by a long standing enthusiast who'd bought it off another enthusiast, it had been well looked after by a local dealer/ex dealer for most of its 113k miles. But the clincher was a complete new clutch/flywheel 2k miles ago, plus a bit more spent on suspension work for MOT. First 20 minute drive was more than pleasant, then on collection did a further 240 miles in 24 hours, even more enjoyable. I'll be doing a few checks myself, plenum, boot, footwells plus others as advised in the forums stick section. Cable tied driver side under seat airbag connector, light now off. Had battery out, radio has code 3223 on panel, not sure what that means or how to get radio to work again? Suffers from low temp reading on gauge, do I do recommended modification, plus swop out thermostat, or just mod? Will then get my trusted mechanic to check sub-frames, suspension, bushes and chassis for rust in the coming days. Doubtless I'll have a few more queries over the coming weeks, thanks for the help and welcome to date. P PS I use same handle, Parisien, on Lancia, volvo, Mercedes, pistonheads etc forums over the last 15 years!! |
