As the weather is looking poor over the next few days I may not get around to changing the parts unless it dries up by Thursday. I've just ordered a sachet from Ebay. As the supplier is just up the road in Newcastle , It shouldn't take long to arrive in the post.
Big thank you to Trikey and Lovel for the recommendation. It makes sense to do the job right. Last edited by patrolman pete; 12th October 2020 at 12:57.. Reason: Punctuation . |

When I replaced my aircon radiator, all I used was WD40 on the one sealing o ring, and........spit on the other. No problems yet.

I ordered the Molykote on the 12th from EBay and the seller is just up the road in Newcastle . It was marked dispatched on the 12th as second class post and I'm still waiting . I could have walked there and back quicker ! All they have to do is pop it in an envelope and stick it in the nearest postbox !
I'm off next Wednesday ,so that's my job of the day ! |

Condenser replaced yesterday and not too bad a job really. Today I'm on with changing the two pipes that go from the joint under the bonnet and pass into the plenum but I've had to take a risk as I forgot about the large O ring in the joint near the engine mount Not sure of where I can get one today , I've smeared the old O ring with plenty of the Molykote and it seems a firm fit when pushed together so hopefully it seals okay. If not ,I'm sure it's the easier one to replace in situ .
Time to go back and fit the panels and mop up the spilt blood ! Just had a browse on 'tinternet' and I might be able to get a deal on Groupon for the air con regas. PS Old pipe looks okay but peace of mind I suppose ! |

Air con regassed and it's nice and cold again
Found an offer on Groupon for the regas at a local ATS for £38 . A quick call this morning and I was told to come straight in and an hour later ,all was good. If anyone wants to take up the offer , it ends November 30th 2020. |
