Both front seat plugs may need doing, or, under the carpet, "B" pillar is the srs unit which may be wet. Good luck

If you've had the floor that wet its a good bet your impact sensor is fried on at least one side. Just had the same problem. My sensor arrived today. Hopefully get it on Saturday ad its a seat out job on a mk1.

Cut the plugs off and use electrical strip connectors to get it through the MOT

Try using proper contact cleaner on the plugs rather than WD40 and plug and unplug the seat connectors several times. It worked on my plugs that had caused MOT issues for a couple of years

Fingers crossed for you that is all it is. If not, get a T4 and it will tell you which sensor it is.

Don't cut off the connectors, cancel your MOT and have it diagnosed correctly

My money is on a defective side impact sensor being the culprit, and chopping off the plugs and bodging them together with choc block won't fix the problem
