My interpretation is that this still will not be possible - the rule for outdoor gatherings remains at a limit of 6 people from different households and with social distancing. My local MG club proposed a meet in early July, but most members have come back and said this is probably not a good idea and not in line withe the guidance/regulations.

Second thought - I guess a run out to a country pub and sitting in the pub beer garden following the pubs Covid-19 procedures (1 metre plus and giving your contact details etc.) might be OK.

This is what I don’t understand. As there’s nothing stopping me going into ASDA ect and picking up a tin of beans putting it down and 10 other people touch it. Walking close by each other. But not allowed to go in a field and walk further apart not touching anything in and outdoor environment and not enclosed.

The rules are a complete waste of time, as I’ve said previously, I’m ok to work with 200+ people during this pandemic, but you can’t socialise with a few mates at a car meet??
We will be putting something in the east Anglian meets section for later this summer, it will just state where Deb and I are going for an hour, if other mg rovers ‘happen’ to turn up then that would be nice wouldn’t it 👍

Part of the problem I understand is the insurance if it is an official event. I know the Jensen owners club has decided that they will not be attending any events due to this.
I have noticed the Croxley Green event at the beginning of August is cancelled, those that know of this event will know how much space there is at this event so that was a surprise. Sadly I think we must resign our selves to either no events in the next few months or if there are they will be either unofficial or low key. As has been said on another thread the virus is still out there and yes being out side lowers your chance of getting it dramatically but I for one don't want to be the last person to die of this or be left with other medical problems for the sake of missing something, there will always be next year and maybe with a gap some of the lesser events will get a bigger attendance with a 12 month gap. Stay safe and be patient dont become a patient. |

Awesome, looks like the relentless tirade of doom on the telly is working nicely
I might even head down to an "unofficial meet" at a pub beer garden soon, even in East Anglia so I can spend loads of time driving Brian |

I think the unofficial events may be treated in much the same way as the covid raves that have been going on. Patience is the key.
