Default My first breakdown

Hi everyone.

Disaster today, I was heading to a friend who had a breakdown with his work van and my car came to a halt. I have power and the engine turns over but will not start. I did think at first it could be fuel starvation but I have recently replaced the secondary upper fuel pump and the filter. I have half a tank of feul so that's ok.
I asked a friend who also has a 75 and he has suggested it might be the cam sensor or maybe the fuel pressure sensor.

Any advice would be greatly received.

Have an injector leakback test done, this can cause the car to stop running.

If it died whilst running it won't be the cam sensor, could be the crank sensor. Leakback test as suggested is easy to do. Disconnect fuel return pipe and T pieces from all injectors and place pipe in a 2 ltr bottle, unplug elec connectors from injectors and crank the engine for 5 seconds, any injector with more than a slight dribble of fuel can be considered out of spec. That's how I diagnosed mine.

Don't discount items simply as they have been recently replaced, what type of fuel pump was fitted?

CMP sensor is only used to reference the injection cycle during cranking, and won't cause the car to cut out, the CKP sensor, you should see the tachometer needle twitching while cranking, however it could be all manner of things.

Why was the underbonnet pump changed, was it definitely defective, or otherwise perhaps.
