My 1999 2.0 V6 is LEZ compliant but no ULEZ compliant. Not that it matters as I never intend to visit London ever again. Once was quite enough thank you!

I agree about London but unfortunately live here! - The trouble is these zones are starting to appear around many cities and if the new emission system is introduced as pointed out by a previous message then we will all be in trouble

This RAC website is quite useful:
https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/e...ons-standards/ It does at least explains the Euro 1 - 6 system and the emissions that relate to each band. It seems Euro 4 rated petrol are ok for the ULEZ and Euro 6 diesel - the figures for CO and NO for both petrol and diesel are equivalent at these bands, which is CO at 1.0g/km and NO at 0.08g/km. Nothing still seems to explain why some of our 75's / MG's are rated ok and others not though! - it does seem to depend on what has been put on the reg. doc as Reebs' list pointed out. Perhaps DVLA need to clarify this one

It gets worse, I put my classic reg number in and it says I am not exempt but all vehicles registered as historic automatically qualify. I get it that there are probably not that many classics driven on the streets of London but surly they can see if the vehicle is registered as an historic ?
My guess once this comes into force there will be a lot of people getting fines or warnings that need to be challenged. The other crazy thing is my motorbike will also have to pay. Are they trying to turn London into a ghost town? No wonder so may people are moving to places like Manchester and Liverpool. |

Easy.
Buy a bicycle and stay away from beans on toast. And you can go anywhere!

ULEZ and my Diesel Rover 75
I own a 19 years old diesel Rover 75, BMW engine. I have owned it for 17 of those years. It has around 80,000 on the clock, as I am a light user, more so these days. It's in good condition,. .
I live within the new ULEZ area and if that goes through I will have to sell or scrap it. However, it seems that it's worth only £500. It's a gorgeous car & my pride & joy.. Any good ideas on selling or replacement? The very thought of the word "scrappage" to such a car is horrible - and definitely not good in this age of renewing, not scrapping. I will need to by a second-hand car, not easy for one who knows little about the innards! |

Sell your diesel to someone outside any zones &
buy a compliant petrol-powered 75. You can check the reg' no before you buy.
