Exclamation New front seat wont slide fully forwards - update pg2

Fitted my replacement front passenger seat tonight but when I attempted to slide it fully forward on its runners it would not go further than the end of the rails that are bolted to the floor.... It slides back and forward but will not slide fully forward beyond the ends of the floor runners. I cannot see anything fouling it and the seat I removed functioned perfectly sliding back and forward to its full extent. The seat that I have fitted only slides forward just enough to clear the rear Torx bolts that holds them in, has anyone got ideas or suggestions on how to fix this?

I had the same when I hadn't quite fully tightened one of the torx (Torx +, Ribe 8.... other makes of bolts are available disclaimer ) seat bolts.

Are you sure they are fully torqued down?

Yeah I used a torque wrench, and the seat would not move forwards to allow the wrench in to tighten them - I had to hand tighten them until they were in far enough to have room to use the wrench.

Its like they come to the end of their travel there is no resistance they just stop dead!

My Son had the same problem with his - eventually found a 5p coin, (obviously fell out of pocket) trapped in one of the slots of the runner. Removed it and all was good.

Might be worth a look.

I found mine jammed solid when I tried to move it not so long ago to sort out the handbrake compensator. Didn't think to look inside the rails, good shout!

I don't imagine it's a wedged £50 note in there but I will live in hope until the morning when I have a peek

Were the runners level with each other when installed ?? If not the seat may be sliding at an angle...If you know what I mean !!
