Well, finally got round to changing the off side top mount and bearing. The bump stop washer was missing causing damage to the top mount rubber and a dent in my bonnet when I hit a pot hole as mentioned earlier.

Compressed the spring, released the drop link, dropped the strut down, released the top nut, swapped out the top mount sans bearing and re built the whole lot in place. All fairly straight forward.
Boy was that shock strut a PITA to push back up into the top mount! When there new, struts push themselves open, when aged they pull themselves shut!!!! The little gits!!!

Just got the other side to do now, can’t wait!!!!! can’t be having odd bearings now can we!!

A full service on a diesel, wrestled with a powerflex bush, it finally gave in and found a new home in a teardrop mount, and a cruise control retrofit.

Did an oil and filter change while it was dry and sunny, it took longer to get the undertray off and back on.

Had a look at the engine mounts and it looks like its the upper one that needs changing, I noticed a split in the rubber and all of the movement is coming from this mount.

Just checked boot and she’s dry!
First time in my ownership!

Though, as with everything MG, there’s a downside
Discovered ram isn’t man enough to hold up boot floor

Replaced the split Hella Wiper Blade with an aerofoiled Bosch. Helped in spotting the speed camera on the way home!😂
